ARTIST TALK with Charrette van Eekelen – Sat 9 May, 11am
Join us to hear Charrette van Eekelen discuss the impulse and method behind her exhibition of fabric paintings in which stitches draw lines, persuasively describing objects and scenes with care and tactility.
We will also wander through to view and discuss Tom Field’s exhibition of large semi-abstract paintings, made over several decades, that reflect the shifting swells of the ocean. Now in his eighties, Tom taught painting for many years at the Otago School of Art and is currently resident in Christchurch.
